Captive Touch Technology

Use of Captive touch technology, also known as touch screen technology, is expected to grow within the next ten years.

Since an overwhelming majority of Americans use a touch screen device at least once a day, it’s not surprising to see the value in all that capacitive touch has to offer. From car navigation touch screens to aviation, the touch screen phenomenon is far from over. Even bars in Las Vegas have touch screen technology inside them where customers are able to write on the bar, draw and play with light. Soon, patrons will be able to set their check cards onto a touch screen table and instantly pay for their meal. The digital camera created a boom for digital pictures and all accessories that went with it. Touch screens of the future will allow users to play with their digital images using a virtual scrapbook tool, enabling photos to enlarge and shrink, flip and move.

Much much more touch technology is heading our way and perhaps new touch security will come with it. Instead of anyone being able to touch your capacitive touch screen, phone or car screen, a fingerprint lock will only allow the registered user to have access. In less than 10 years, we will not only continue to talk about capacitive touch technology, we will be listening with it, wearing it and standing on it.

  1. I feel like we are beginning to take touch screens for granted. I never think twice about how easy or convenient it is to walk into WAWA and order a hoagie made just right just by touching exactly what I want on it. The truth is it makes everything much easier and more convenient. What is simpler than tapping your choice. The technology behind this is improving rapidly. Soon everything will become touch screen. Most computer companies have released a touch screen model. There are countless cell phones and now iPods that all run based off touch technology. Maybe in the future we will see it with televisions… remote controls… maybe we will even use this to drive and steer our cars.

  2. I strongly agree. Touch screen computers are being installed everywhere. I was out of the country and at all airports in all the countries that i visited and stopped at all had touch screen computers for baggage check ins and for ticket purchases. It definitely is a great process and it will most likely become much more useful than what it has. I mean let alone the computers, look at all the phones that have touch screens, and so on. This will truly become a great success. Although it is a great privilege to have as Alex mentioned, to order a hoagie at wawa without having to confuse the seller of what you want. you make your own order! Just awesome!

  3. Touch screen technology is one of my favorite technology. As technology grows we see touch screen technology implemented in everything. It started from cell phones, computers and now its almost everywhere. simple example is how easy or convenient it is to walk into WAWA or any other stores and order a hoagie or sandwich made just right just by touching exactly what I want on it. I feel like we are beginning to take touch screens for granted. We just act like its not even there. The truth is it makes everything much easier and more convenient. This technology is a very revolutionary.

  4. I am glad to hear that touch screen technology will increase in use within the next decade. Both old and young can benefit from the greater usability that touch screens provide over traditional button based interfaces. Touch screens are already quite prevalent at most checkout counters in stores today. Just about everyone knows how to read and touch, so navigation of a touch screen device should be fairly easy for just about anyone.

  5. Touch screen are being used by so many people. It is spreading all over the country. In this world we have touch screens for many different things like phones, GPS, iPod, Laptops and many more. In the future the touch technology is going to get faster and easier. This is like dream comes true. What I mean to say is technology is getting faster than we expected. When I had my first cell phone I never thought that there will be touch screen phone in future. I never even thought about that. It is getting better and better every day.
