Green Beer

A new technology makes beer green! A project, funded partly by the Australian government will employ the use of microbial fuel cells to generate energy from waste water at the Foster's Brewing Co. production plant. The use of the new fuel cell arrives as the food and beverage industry face pressure to become more environmentally friendly. This technology not only provides energy but also leaves behind clean water and much less CO2 then other means of production.

  1. Well since beer is a huge seller, even in low financial times it seems, it is probably a good idea to start going green. Alot of beer is bottled in glass so already that is a start to being greener, because it eliminates the use of plastic.
However, this way of using energy through waste water is actually really smart. You said that this technology not only provides energy but also leaves behind clean water.. does that mean that after the waste water is being used it is converted to clean water? If so all waste water can be used in this process to restore the availablity of clean water. Great post Adam!

  2. It's great to see a company using what is avaliable to help the environment. This could help sales as well since people want to buy green products all the time.

Also I was told by someone from AUS that they hate Fosters there LOL.

  3. The Australian government seems to know know the proper way to spend their money, unlike our government and all the bailouts.

Although I'm still very confused on how this works and the diagram only made things worse.
