The soft version of the bullet proof vest has been around since the 1800's but with many years of testing and modifying the vests of today are much better. Thanks to science and testing, manufacturers of bullet proof vest have been to provide protection to the many men, women and even K-9's. The standard vest will protect the wearer from most fired projectiles or shrapnel. They have tested many different fibers and the way these fibers are woven together determine the best pattern of protection. Currently they are testing new materials such as fluids which harden when an impact occurs, ceramic materials and even spider silk. Although these vests are capable of stopping bullets most still do not protect against sharp, pointed objects such as knives and arrows. With out this important invention many lives would have been lost from those who risk their lives to keep us safe every day.
I have ALWAYS appreciated the idea of the bullet-proof vest. This product has saved many lives, including personal friends of mine. I am glad to know that that the men and women who risk their lives for us aren't as "at risk" as they used to be.
ReplyDeleteBulletproof vests are one of the safest product. With the technology, thinks like this also improves. I think bullet proof jackets became more popular after they went more towards the style of how it looks then safety but as long as our men and women wear it. It will save their life.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the people who put their lives at stake everyday to have a bulletproof vest.Many lives were saved and many criminals were put behind bars. Technolgy keeps amazing us.
ReplyDeleteIts amazing to think all that goes into making a bullet proof vest, and the technology that goes into it to make them better to better protect those who serve. Its also strange to think that while they protect from most bullets, arrows and sharp objects are still able to pierce through, allowing injury to the officer. Another thing I like is the vest made for the K-9's, like officers, they are in the job to protect the people and they deserve just as much safety as the next.
